Manchester Lancers Varsity Claims Lead In Eighth Inning To Defeat Woodbridge
Manchester Lancers Varsity ran off with the lead late in the game in a 9-8 victory over Woodbridge on Tuesday. The game was tied at eight with Manchester Lancers Varsity batting in the top of the eighth when Laura Beth Harvey grounded out, scoring one run.
Mia Wolfolk led Manchester Lancers Varsity to victory by driving in four runs. Wolfolk went 3-for-3 at the plate. Wolfolk drove in runs on a home run in the first and a home run in the sixth.
Woodbridge captured the lead in the second inning. R Wasgington drove in two when Wasgington doubled.
In the top of the sixth inning, Manchester Lancers Varsity tied things up at eight when Wolfolk hit a solo homer.
Woodbridge scored four runs in the second inning. J Tate, Wasgington, and K Barbier powered the big inning with RBIs.
Bailey Jahna got the start for Manchester Lancers Varsity. The pitcher went seven and two-thirds innings, allowing eight runs on 13 hits, striking out three and walking one.
G Clary toed the rubber for Woodbridge . The pitcher surrendered nine runs on 14 hits over eight innings, striking out 11.
