It was a fantastic afternoon for soccer and the facilities were superb.  Dealing with a large number of injuries and a subsequent depleted bench, several players from the junior varsity team have been helping provide valuable minutes on the field.

The game got off to a quick start, with our Lancers maintaining much of the possession.  Many shots were taken on the Falcon's goal, but all were either saved or missed their mark.  I attributed over ten saves in the first half to the Huguenot goalkeeper. 

The second half was played much better.  The passing became cleaner and more creative, as the Lancers started to find easier transitions from the middle third into the attacking third and subsequently created better scoring opportunities.  Kailei Spencer broke the deadlock with a well struck PK, her second on the season.  A second free kick goal was negated due to a questionable foul being called.  Nonetheless, Maddie Cason scored her first goal of the game, assisted by Grace Kilb.  Maddie followed up a short time later with her second goal of the night.  

Jillian Barthlow was credited with six saves in goal for the Lancers, which recorded its third clean sheet of the season; supported by the back line:  Emily Connell, Rosy Herrera, Karlee Brock, and Vanessa Bartell.

Manchester advanced to 3-7 on the season with the victory.
