After a lengthy bus ride, your Manchester Lancers took the field on a beautiful night for soccer. This was a tough, aggressive, physical match, testing the fourteen active player roster. Prince George scored in the first half following a free kick that landed inside the 18 yard box and was buried in the back of the net by the onrushing attackers from the home team. In the second half, Maddie Cason took possession of the ball on the right wing with some very physical play and secured a cross into the box that Kaylee Hughes slid past the Royals goalkeeper (her first goal of the season). As the minutes ticked off, the intensity of the match grew - each team trying to capture the lead. Unfortunately, the referees may have decided the outcome of this match by awarding a PK to Prince George with three minutes left, which was connected, leaving the final score: Prince George 2; Manchester 1.
