• Manchester Lancers JV Defeats Monacan Despite Allowing 3-Run Inning
• Manchester Lancers JV claimed a 14-3 victory on Thursday, despite a big push by Monacan in the second inning. The offensive onslaught by Monacan was led by #8, #18, and #12, all driving in runs in the inning.
• Manchester Lancers JV secured the victory thanks to 11 runs in the second inning. The big inning was thanks to singles by Alicia Hoffman, Austin Ligon, and Candace Carter, an error on a ball put in play by Laura Beth Welch and Rebecca Tanner, and doubles by Tanner and Welch.
• Hoffman earned the win for Manchester Lancers JV. She surrendered three runs on eight hits over four and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking zero.
• #3 led things off on the rubber for Monacan. She surrendered 14 runs on 11 hits over five innings, striking out one.
• Manchester Lancers JV totaled 11 hits. Carter and Tanner each had multiple hits for Manchester Lancers JV. Carter led Manchester Lancers JV with three hits in four at bats.
• Monacan collected eight hits on the day. #19 and #18 all collected multiple hits for Monacan.

• Manchester Lancers JV weathered a push by Monacan in the third inning where Manchester Lancers JV coughed up three runs, but Manchester Lancers JV still won 8-3 on Thursday. #17and #19 all drove in runs in the frame.
• Manchester Lancers JV got things moving in the first inning, when Sadie Dempster tripled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
• Manchester Lancers JV tallied six runs in the second inning. Lauren Soloman, Rebecca Tanner, Katherine Connell, Dempster, and Austin Ligon each drove in runs during the inning.
• Hailey Darrington got the win for Manchester Lancers JV. She went five innings, allowing three runs on two hits, striking out six and walking one.
• #19 was on the rubber for Monacan. She allowed five hits and eight runs over four innings, striking out three.
• Tanner, Darrington, Dempster, Connell, and Soloman each collected one hit to lead Manchester Lancers JV.

Tryouts will be INSIDE the AUX GYM 4-6:15 today. 

Tryouts will remain 4-6 outside today, 2/19. BRING SLEEVES. It is cold--you need to wear long sleeves!

Please also bring tennis shoes just incase we need to go indoors! 

Due to weather and the large number of other athletic teams needing indoor spots, the location and time of tryouts will be announced the day before via this website, twitter, and facebook. 

Monday 2/18 tryouts will be from 2-4 outside on the varsity softball field. If the weather is bad, then tryouts will be moved into the auxiliary gym from 2-4

Tues 2/19-Thurs 2/21 tryouts will be from 4-6 on the varsity softball field. If the weather is bad, the location are TBD

Make sure to bring BOTH indoor and outdoor clothes EVERY DAY. 

You MUST wear sleeves--it will be cold.
