The Boys JV Volleyball team kicked off their pre-season with a home win over the Green Dragons from Maggie Walker.  The Lancers' emotions rode the gauntlet throughout the course of the match, as well.  The JV boys started off timid and nervous as most had never played organized volleyball ever before.  Mental errors and six service errors caused the Lancers to drop the first set 21-25.

Then, in the second set, they relaxed.  And dominated.  Slaying the Dragons.  With a higher level of confidence and a more spirited level of play, Manchester took the second set 25-17 forcing a third and decisive set.

In the third set, their confidence continued for a 15-9 victory as Michael Sorensen earned his second kill to close out the night.  

Manchester registered 9 team kills and 11 team aces throughout the match.  Freshman Rene Molina and 8th Grader Mitchell Schuler each contributed heavily with their back row passing while setters Luke Krausse and Brandon Schoeb offered 5 assists and 3 kills respectively.

Returning team MVP, Seth Duncan had three of the aces and two kills, while freshman Nick LaPara served three consecutive aces, as well.

The boys Junior Varsity squad next travels to Hermitage to face the Panthers this Thursday, August 18, 2016.
